The Craftsmanship
The multi-colored handwoven patterns embroidered on the shoes have been meticulously designed and woven on looms using distinct sets of yarns and threads that are interlaced at right angles. Experienced traditional weavers memorize patterns and count threads while using their creativity to give birth to these unique designs.
More Than A Name
An Ethiopian name originating from the root word for “thought”, Hasabe encompasses the thoughtful approach taken in creating and curating every pair. Its founder and namesake, Hasabe Arefe, was inspired by traditional Ethiopian designs when incorporating these ancient “tilet” or “tibeb” patterns into modern stylish footwear that delivers on comfort. The memory foam midsole of each pair provides comfort and support levels that are too often sacrificed for the sake of style.
